Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of SmartSlate ("we," "us," or "our"), including smartslate.studio and the production software we provide. By creating an account, starting a trial, or buying a plan you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for your account, for keeping your password private, and for everything done under your account. Provide accurate information, and tell us right away if you think your account has been misused.

3. Free Trial

New accounts may include a free trial of up to 3 days. No payment card is needed to start the trial. When the trial ends, you need an active plan to keep using paid features.

4. Plans, Billing, and Cancellation

• Single Script is a one-time purchase that gives you one production license.
• Production House and Studio Unlimited are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically each month until you cancel.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store your card number.
• You can cancel a subscription at any time. Cancelling stops future charges, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
• Purchases and subscription payments are non-refundable, including partial months.
• We may change prices for future billing periods. We will give notice before a change affects you.

5. Your Content

Your scripts, schedules, budgets, and other files stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them only as needed to run the service for you. You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload.

6. SmartSlate Intelligence

Features that use AI, such as script breakdowns, suggest results automatically. They can contain mistakes. Review every breakdown, schedule, budget, and call sheet before you rely on it.

7. Acceptable Use

Do not misuse the service. That includes trying to break or overload it, getting around plan limits, reselling access, sharing your login with people outside your team, uploading anything unlawful, or using the service to harm others.

8. Emails

If you request a demo or create an account we may email you about your demo, trial, and account. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.

9. Availability and Changes

We work to keep SmartSlate available and improving, but we do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error free. We may update or change features. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms.

10. Disclaimer and Liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, SmartSlate is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use SmartSlate after a change means you accept it.
